Collective Worship

We meet every day for some form of collective worship. It is a time for both reflection and discussion. They are based on our Christian values for each half term. The children are encouraged to reflect on the assembly and comment on it.

On a Thursday our assemblies are usually a visitor from the clergy or Churches Together .They are based on Bible stories and stories that reflect the church year. Through this we also teach our 6 Christian values.  Tess Dean from Kenwyn leads our Jaffa (Jesus a Friend for All) Club, and helps the children lead their own assemblies.  She also encourages the children in our Jaffa Club to decorate our prayer space making it as welcoming as possible for others.  The prayer space is available for all staff and children most lunchtimes.

We are very lucky to have lots of other visitors attend our school, including the ‘Open the Book’ team, who share Bible stories through drama.  These are mostly Old Testament stories, performed by members of the Methodist Church.
